Have you ever wondered why people choose certain careers? For example, why would a massage therapist choose that very profession considering the many health-related options to choose from. For Mitra Teimouri, that happened rather seamlessly, “I chose massage therapy as a holistic way to enter health care and be a part of people’s healing journeys.”
A good place to be, work and play
A Vancouver native, Mitra decided to stay close to home once she graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2023. One big reason: she wants to give back to the community that she grew up in. This also gives her the opportunity to spend time with her family. On that note, taking her grandmother out for lunch is a special treat.
When she’s not busy working, Mitra loves cooking, painting, and listening to live music – what better place to be in for live concerts!
She loves being active, and has been doing it throughout school and afterwards too. “I played volleyball and football in high school, and I now maintain my athletic roots through hiking, working out, running and ocean swimming.”
Where it all comes together
As for opting to become part of the MaxFit team, that was a rather easy one. “I chose MaxFit because I wanted a team that values high standards for client-centered care, and team members that foster growth and collaboration with each other in a multidisciplinary practice.” We love hearing that!
Mitra’s outlook on work is beautifully reflected in her favourite quote by Erikah Badu. ‘Peace and blessings manifest with every lesson learned. If your knowledge were your wealth, then it would be well earned.’
We’re not suprised that Mitra found a way to reflect this kind of depth into her own work. Her wish: “I hope to make an impact in peoples healing journeys, however big or small, as long as it is positive.”
