Melanie Soer
PhysiotherapistMelanie received her BSc in Kinesiology, plus certificates in Applied Human Nutrition and Health and Fitness from Simon Fraser University. After graduating with a Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT) from UBC in 2014, she went on to complete her Orthopaedic Level 3 Upper and Lower Extremity courses in Manual Therapy, and Intermediate Practical Exam.
Melanie became interested in working with people with arthritis and mixed connective tissue disorders, which she did through the Mary Pack Arthritis Centre in Vancouver. That’s where she has also assisted in teaching the Advanced Continuing Education Program and the Advanced Total Joint Arthroplasty Rehabilitation courses.
Melanie is a certified Chan Gunn IMS Practitioner, and has completed level 1a and 1b Biokinetic Exercise Technique (B.E.T.) courses, which comprise an exercise treatment based on Pilates principles. Melanie has also completed additional training in vestibular rehabilitation (vertigo, dizziness and balance), as well as treatment protocols of temporomandibular disorders. She is a clinical assistant professor for the UBC Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) Program and has been a Clinical Preceptor for several MPT students over the last number of years.
