Candace Messina
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates InstructorCandace completed her MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in 2011. Prior to that she completed her BSc Kinesiology with a Certificate in Health & Fitness studies at Simon Fraser University. She has been working in private practice physiotherapy ever since completing her Master of Physiotherapy. Candace has continued to develop professionally through continuing education courses throughout her career.
In addition to her practice of Physiotherapy, Candace is also a Clinical Pilates Instructor having completed training in the rehabilitation stream (Mat and Reformer) in STOTT Pilates. As well, she brings extensive experience as a kinesiologist with a strong background in exercise-based rehabilitation. She focuses on individualizing the treatment to each client’s specific presentation and needs.
Candace enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries. In recent years, the courses she has taken in functional gait analysis have further developed her interest in treating foot, ankle and lower limb conditions. Her own experience in both running and soccer have contributed to the lower limb interest.
As a mom of three, Candace also looks forward to helping other women to function optimally with their changing bodies during their pre-natal and post-natal journeys and beyond!
In her free time, Candace likes to spend time with her family and stay active by running, hiking, walking, strength training and coaching soccer. In her youth and young adulthood, Candace was an avid competitive soccer player.
