Candace Messina
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates InstructorCandace completed her MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in 2011. Prior to that she completed her BSc Kinesiology with a Certificate in Health & Fitness studies at Simon Fraser University. She has been working in private practice physiotherapy ever since completing her Master of Physiotherapy. Candace has continued to develop professionally through continuing education courses throughout her career.
In addition to her practice of Physiotherapy, Candace is also a Clinical Pilates Instructor having completed training in the rehabilitation stream (Mat and Reformer) in STOTT Pilates. As well, she brings extensive experience as a kinesiologist with a strong background in exercise-based rehabilitation. She enjoys treating all types of patients and focuses on individualizing the treatment to each person’s specific presentation and needs.
Candace’s interest in treating pre- and post-natal women started during her own pregnancy, which motivated her to become certified as a pre- and post-natal fitness specialist. Now, as a mom of two young boys, her interest has grown and she is excited to be able to help other women function optimally with their changing bodies.
In her free time, Candace enjoys spending time with her family and staying active by running, hiking, walking, swimming and home exercises (including Pilates of course!). She has also been an avid competitive soccer player for the majority of her life.
